2022 Pan Am Championships

Pan American Championships

Over the past weekend at the Pan American Championships in Acapulco, Mexico, several NLWC wrestlers had outstanding performances!

Thomas Gilman (57 kg), last year's Olympic bronze and World gold medalist got off to a good start in the 2022 freestyle season, dominating every opponent on his way to the gold medal.

Olympic and World Champion Kyle Snyder (97 kg) was also dominant in winning gold. He won by scores of 10-0, 11-0, and 12-1 on his way to the title.

Franklin Gomez (Puerto Rico) wrestled well on his way to the silver medal at 74 kg. He had wins of 11-0 and 10-0 to reach the finals where he dropped a decision to the returning World champion and U.S. star Kyle Dake.

In women's freestyle at 57 kg, Jane Valencia had a fine performance. She wrestled her way into the the finals with victories over wrestlers from Argentina and Canada before losing by decision to the Cuban and finishing with a silver medal.
